After a Successful sell out  of their 2011 Hook in Bloom Calendar

 

 Hook in Bloom is launching a Photo competition for their 2012 fundraising Calendar.

 So all you budding photographers get your cameras out and start taking photos........


        

The competition is open to everyone all ages (you don’t have to live in the village to enter) as long as the photos entered for the competition are taken within the village.

 

All photos have to be taken on a digital camera (highest resolution settings are best) and portrait (to fit the format for the slimline calendar)

 

Please email any photos to hookinbloom@talktalk.net (please do not resize or shrink photos if sending via email)  include your name, address, phone number and where the photo was taken (max 3 photos per entry) Alternatively copy them onto a CD  or memory stick and drop them through the letterbox 163 High Street Hook (don't forget to label your CD with your name, address and phone number).

 

ALL PHOTOS HAVE TO BE IN DIGITAL FORMAT ONLY PLEASE -  SORRY NO OLD FASHIONED PAPER PRINTS ACCEPTED.

 

The 12 winning photos will be  printed and used in the Hook in Bloom 2012 calendar.  CLOSING DATE FOR ALL ENTRIES IS FRIDAY 17TH JUNE 2011 and the winners will be notified by mid July 2011

 

The Calendar will be available to buy at the September 2011 Hook in Bloom  Table Top Sale.

  All in all a successful Hook-in-bloom Xmas Fayre with over £377 raised for use in tidying and planting around the entrance to the play park and alongside the Hook Memorial Hall and around the village. click here to see photos

Isabella Leetham chose the winning name “Tinsel” and took the opportunity to have a quiet word with Santa about the presents she would like him to bring on Christmas Eve. When asked about what was ordered all he would say was “Hohoho”

Hook- in- Bloom is getting ready for Christmas!
A number of table holders were giving the community a taste of the delightful Christmas art and craft presents that will be on offer next month. So come along to Hook Memorial Hall on 12th December 9 til 12 noon. We have invited Father Christmas too. He will be bringing his new reindeer that needs a name so come along and enjoy the festivities.

It was pumpkins galore at the Hook –in-Bloom Table Top sale!

Bailey, a pupil at Hook Primary School grows pumpkins on his granddads allotment and sells them every Halloween

 Lucy Rose, 11, from Bubwith also had a stall of pumpkins She raffled hers off for pocket money so that she can buy fresh seeds for next year

Mum, Anne Rose, a regular stall holder sells produce, eggs and bric a brac.

As well as the monthly Table Top Sale with over 12 tables taken, Hook-in-Bloom was asked to provide a Barbeque for the Scooter Club’s annual jamboree at Heppy’s (the Sotheron Arms, Hook)

Thanks to Warburtons (Howden Depot) for donating breadcakes for the BBQ.

 Riverside School was chosen by the Scooter Club to be the recipient of money raised. As a number of members camped overnight, the bbq was used on Sunday morning to provide a “fry up” before a stream of fancy scooters departed the village. A sight to behold!

They will be returning next year, so please keep the 2nd weekend in 2011 free for music and entertainment at Heppy’s

 The TTS raised over £400 and we now have enough funds for the building of brick planters at each entrance to the village. So, thanks to all those people who support us. Without you, we wouldn’t have won Silver at this years’ Yorkshire –in- Bloom event
