Well Summer is finally here...

How long it lasts for no-one knows so lets make the most of it!!!

The last 2 plant stalls (May and June) raised a whopping £560 for Hook in Bloom to reinvest back into the village.  Thanks to everone who came and bought all our lovely bedding plants, Tomato/strawberry baskets etc....  We are so greatful to everone who comes to our monthly table top sales and supports us.

The Allotment is full and growing well!  The New Potatoes (that are ready for harvest within the next couple of weeks) will be available to buy from July on our Plant and produce stall on July 11th outside Hook Memorial Hall 9 til 12 noon.

We have been planting more veg plants Fennel, rainbow chard, sorrel, cauliflowers, sweetcorn, celery, courgettes. The allotment is looking great and the other veg are looking well established 1st &, 2nd early and main crop potatoes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, cucumber and lettuce, runner beans (already 7ft high on canes!), mange tout, broad beans, onions.

The Chrysanthemums plants (will be available for sale September in full flower) and the brambles and other soft (gooseberry, red and blackcurrant, rasps) fruits are loving this lovely sunny weather.

Thanks to all the Volunteers who on a rota water the allotment, greenhouses and the planters around the village.  A New Planter has been sited outside Hook Post Office Thanks to Di  & Ron for letting us put one there.

Hook Memorial Hall Committee have kindly allowed us permission to site a water butt on a drainpipe from the Hall roof so as and when it rains we can collect the water and reuse it to water the Planters around the Hall.

The Village is looking really tidy and colourful at the moment with everyone's garden's & hanging baskets looking lovely The Judges (who visit on the 13th July) can only be impressed with Hook Village.

Happy Gardening!
