TheHook in Bloom Volunteers have been very busy starting to plant the barrels around the village with summer bedding plants. All the barrels around the village have been planted up with summer bedding plants. We are also looking for new locations for smaller barrels if anyone can suggest anywhere and if they are willing to water it for us even better! We'll provide barrel, compost and seasonal bedding plants) 2 additional barrels will be s...ited and planted up shortly outside the Memorial Hall 1 near the telegraph pole and the other near the post box. Down on the Allotmentwe had a very productive morning All greenhouses planted up with tomatoes, chilli's, sweet peppers, sweet potatoes, melon, cucumber and aubergines. Sown more salad veg, planted leeks, swede, beetroot. Courgettes, sweetcorn, lettuce, runner beans. pumpkin and butternut squash, runner beans, peas not forgetting the early potatoes that are growing well!!!. We shall reap the rewards later in the Year all produce will be for sale at our Monthly Table top sales later in the year.
